課程概述

Taiwan located in the conjunction of Eurasian and Philippine Sea plate. The hazards imposed by earthquakes are unique in many respects in this country. Planning to mitigate earthquake hazard requires a unique engineering approaches. It is this fact that has led to earthquake hazard reduction only by the design and construction of earthquake resistant structures. This course will teach the basic concept of seismic hazard, the influence of earthquake performance of structures and provide the principal and basic concept of earthquake resistant design.

and effects of earthquakes (including some terminologies)
2. Seismic Hazard Analysis for Design Earthquake
3. Determination of site characteristics, response of soils
4. Seismic Response of Structures (linear response)
4.1 Structural Response to Earthquake Load, SRSS, CQC methods
4.2 Soil-Structural Interaction
4.3 Seismic response of multiple supported structure
4.4 Multiple-Input ground excitations to structure,
4.6 Eccentricity (Building responses)
5. Nonlinear Dynamic Behavior Under Earthquake Load
5.1 Evaluation of seismic input energy
5.1 Earthquake response of inelastic systems (inelastic response spectrum)
6. Principle of Earthquake Resistant Design (Design Code)
7. Concept of Performance-based Design
